It was a fulfilled day at the Corporation on Friday 4th November, 2022 as the Management and the entire staff of the Corporation led by the Managing Director/CEO, Hon. Ayodeji Joseph concluded the 50th anniversary celebration of the Corporation.

The event held at the well decorated marquee in the Corporation’s car park had in attendance the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa; Deputy Chairman House Committee on Housing, Hon. Temitope Adewale; Some Excos of the Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria (AHCN) led by the President, Dr. Victor Onukwugha; Vice Chairman Apapa Local Government, Hon. Ganiu Ismael; Past MD/CEO of the Corporation, Arc. Dhikrullah Har-Yusuph and some retired members of staff.

In his welcome address, Hon. Joseph thanked all invited guests for gracing the occasion. He also extended his gratitude to all members of staff present at the symposium which was held on Thursday 3rd November, 2022. “Today is the fun day of our celebration, I feel it is very important to end the week by dancing, winning gifts as well as rewarding members of staff who have served the corporation for years. It is not a day of giving speeches, it is a day to merry” he added.

Various activities were performed and gifts such as deep fryers, standing fans, blenders etc. were won. Prizes were given to members of staff who have spent 30 years in service to the Corporation. The Management also made special recognitions to members of staff who passed on this year. Family members of the deceased were compensated with cash prizes.

The main feature of the event was the Raffle Draw won by members of staff cut across various grade levels. The winners of the draw walked away with 32” smart TV, air conditioner, microwave, table top gas cooker, sound system, washing machine and lots more.

Highlight of the event was the Star Prize won by Mr. Abiodun Adeyemi a grade level 07 member of staff in the Transport Department of the Corporation who walked home with the grand prize of a 1-bedroom apartment at B.O. Benson Estate, Ikorodu.

Adeyemi thanked LSDPC for the opportunity of making him a homeowner. He added that since his accident, LSDPC has stood by him and he specially gave thanks to the Managing Director/CEO for making this happen.

In his closing remark, Hon. Joseph expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Adeyemi. “It was my prayer that the one who wins the grand prize will be one who deserves and will appreciate it. This is victory to LSDPC, so I say congratulations to all of us. I am grateful to the management for their support in making the event a success and to those that agreed to limit the draw to level 10 and below, I also thank you”.
