Today, the Rotary club of Eko Atlantic in conjunction with the Ministry of Environment and Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) certified LSDPC Flats, Adeola Odeku as an eco-friendly Estate. This award comes after Rotarian Mrs. Vidon championed the cause to recycle waste in the estate by sorting the plastics and cans away from their waste.
Rotarian Mrs. Vidon highlighted how the presentation today started as an idea in 2019 and with the cooperation of LAWMA and the Ministry of Environment today over 60% of residents in the estate now recycle their waste appropriately.
The award was presented by Mrs. Belinda Odeneye, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Environment to Arc. Dhikrullah Har-Yusuph, Managing Director LSDPC on behalf of the estate. The MD, LSDPC in his remarks lauded the efforts of the Rotary Club, LAWMA and Ministry of Environment. He said announcing that moving forward, he would ensure that new estates are eco-friendly certified before residents move in.
